Food, glorious tofu

As promised, here is my very first blogging vegan food picture:

I hope that's not too big - I'm new to this whole blog posting malarkey. (EDIT: it is way too big to show up, but I've editied the HTML so if you click on it, the biggie should open up. EDIT2: dammit, too small now. ah well. better luck next time!)
But yeah. It's tofu (done as per General Tao's tofu recipe off vegweb.com). But instead of adding their sauce, I did stir-fried peppers, carrots and onions an served it on wholegrain rice. It was well nice, if I do say so myself.

On a non-food-related tangent, a brute on the underground looked like he was about to punch me this afternoon. I got on the eastbound District line at Whitechapel and sat on the only seat available. It just so happened that this big gorilla-esque fucker wasn't very happy about having to shift his leg for me to sit and kept glancing at me and grunting. Oh well.

I'm sat in the computer room at uni now cos my damn seminar was cancelled. I would have known about this had I not overslept for my test last Friday. Damn my body clock deciding to do whatever it wants to do and not what I want to do. Or, more importantly, what uni wants it to do.

Anyway, I'm off home now. Might buy some food on the way. I fancy tomatoes after seeing a picture on vegweb that had the most gorgeous looking tomatoes in it.

Au revoir.

The Life of Bryan pt.1 - In the beginning there was Bryan. They could see it was Bryan. And it was good.

Allow myself to introduce...myself. (That's from Austin Powers, I think)
As my "about me section states, I am Bryan. I am currently 21 (though that may change next August). I live in London - possibly the greatest city on earth. I study Film and love it - no, it is not a doss subject. I do up to 17 hours a week this semester, which is over three times more that most arts students do in a week. So there.
I have been with my fiancee Joanna for smidge over four years now, and have been engaged since February 15th 2006 (she didn't notice the ring 'til after midnight). I love her with all my heart and we get on so well together. Our secret? Plenty of petty arguments, most of which we laugh at literally about 5 seconds later.
Oh, and lots of sex.

Yes, I am vegan. Yes,I do think it is healthy. Yes, I do think I am doing the right thing. Yes, It is good for the environment. Yes, animals are compassionate and feel pain. No, I don't believe eating animal products is "normal" or "natural". No, soya is not more damaging than meat. Yes, there is science to prove everything I say - as long as you ask politely I will dig out sources and references for any claims I might make in everyday conversation or on here. I don't base my opinions on hearsay or speculation of minorities.
On the lighter side of vegan things, there will be a lot of eye-candy for food lovers because I love taking pictures of food I make (which is a lot of food, if you don't know me already).

I love analysing film texts. More specifically, I love black & white and high contrast. This only really struck me lately after watching lots of noir, Renoir and Bergman. I am determined to one day make a completely meaningless film (in the grand scheme of things) which conforms to my aesthetic aspirations purely for personal satisfaction.

I am a devout feminist, socialist and believer in all things equal. I hate the world most of the time, and marvel at its beauty the rest. I scowl and smile in equal numbers to reflect this. I sometimes laugh when walking along on my own. Sometimes it's podcast-induced, but mostly it's because I see a squirrel scratching itself, or a bike that looks like it's got ears 'cos of how it has fallen over.

I have a few ideas for this blog (not that anyopne will read it!), but I think it will be an amalgam of a plethora of things that happen to fire my synapses. You can be sure there'll always be mentions of good vegan scrumminess though. my ideas for the next few posts, when I have time, are:
Favourite films;
Favourite music;
Interesting places I like to visit;
My locality and what I think of it;
My history, in about, ooh, 157 parts.

Anyway, that's me for now.

So bye-bye. I have to go wake Jo up because she's snoozing on the couch and needs to be in proper bed. Night!
